Responding to threats of intervention or enforcement

Sometimes the FCA will express a concern and ask the firm to submit a VREQ under threat of S166 or enforcement intervention.

In these situations, it is important that the firm demonstrates it takes the concerns very seriously. Often, this will require the firm to commission an independent report or review to assess the area of concern cited by the regulator.
